My oh my its a tad awkward that this Indiana small forward pulled a switcharue on the California bears when he deiced to join the Oklahoma State cowboys last minute. If you don’t know who I’m talking about, its Davon Dillard. He’s an incoming freshman claiming to have a “change in heart” and choose to commit to OSU.
From Harvey, Illinois, coming to Oklahoma State to play basketball and to major in business, Dillard is looking forward to his future as seen in his tweets (@DDillard24). His history in basketball includes that as a junior he played for Bowm
an Academy and averaged 17 points, 7.1 rebounds and 20 steals per game. He then played for Our Savior New American School where he averaged 16 points his senior year. His hard work has earned him a national four-star recruit by ESPN.com and 3rd in the state of Indiana. ESPN also ranked him number 94 in America regardless of position. This shows that he is an all around valuable player. Static-wise, however, can only say so much. I suggest taking the time to watch some of Dillard’s highlight clips because his confident and strong drive up into the basket shows what he’s made of.
Dillard will also be adding himself to the list of OSU basketball players who have been rewarded the McDonald’s All-American because of his explosive athleticism. The coach for OSU stated,“His size, athleticism and toughness make him very versatile. I watched him power his team to a victory with his hard work, which is something he brings game-in, game-out. His motor is always running”(www.tulsaworld.com). With what Dillard has shown, I’m looking forward to see what he brings to the table this coming season.
